In the Palm of Papa’s Hand

Donna Godwin 2013

In the palm of Papa’s hand

was a hollowed out place…

unexplored territory-

a cave of sorts.

Surrendered, sacred, secure.

Devoid of life and matter

oblivious to shape or form.

Ebony…indigo…midnight.

Empty

Alone

Lonely.

With an ache

the sound of loneliness rose

into the mysterious abyss of darkness.

Swirling

Twirling

Rising

The sound was heard and captured!

The wind stirred in response

calling forth the breath of life.

In the gust of a word

light erupted

darkness fled

life poured forth.

Day had dawned.

Seeds gave birth.

Destiny had arrived!

Creator God … Elohim!

Father

Son

Holy Spirit

Giver of Life

Lover of Souls

Redeemer

Savior

Friend

Lord

Holy! Holy! Holy!

Is the Lord God Almighty!

Who was and is and is to come!

Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Amen!

About godw1nz

I am the mom of three beautiful daughters, wife to a genius, sister to a teacher, sis-in-law to an engineer, daughter to a yankee and a rebel, and a woman chasing God. I love to read, draw and be with my family. If the reading inspires me, then I draw what I read. Almost everything I draw is based around or about Jesus Christ. I attend church at First United Methodist Hillsville. Ronnie Collins is my associate pastor, also a blogger here. I love the Lord with all my heart and I hope what you see here will inspire your heart.
