Looking through the window

I’ve been creating art using alcohol ink on vellum.  I love it because the Holy Spirit is making the images while all I do is place the color where I think it should go.  I started this in the stillness of the studio.  I put a large amount of pink ink and a little blue on the paper and then moved the paper upside down, sideways, and right side up to get the ink to flow evenly over the paper.  It created an interesting background effect.  Then I added dots of color here and there, blowing on the ink to get it to move around and make these shapes.  As I stopped and looked closer I began to see the image of Jesus sitting or slightly bent over, with what appears to be a doorway to the center of His being.

“Come In.”

I share with a friend and she directs me to Song of Solomon.  I begin reading and am immediately touched in my heart with His great love for me.  I start reading out loud only it’s not me reading-it’s like the tender heart of Jesus is reading out loud to me.  I can barely breathe.

I hear myself say, “ I’ve been too distracted…”

and my spirit whispers, “ Lord, I’m so sorry…”

My heart begins to melt and tears form and fall…

SOS 2: 9

Ah, I hear my lover coming!
He is leaping over the mountains,
bounding over the hills.
9 My lover is like a swift gazelle
or a young stag.
Look, there he is behind the wall,
looking through the window,
peering into the room.

All He wants is me.

Every bit of me.

He’s got me.

The LORD is great….

When I look at this I see an angel wing, a sun, and the colors of heaven.  I see movement and life and mystery.  I see the golden glow of glory and things to come.

I see hear:

1 Corinthians 2:9

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
and no mind has imagined
what God has prepared
for those who love him.”

We don’t always see what God has prepared for us and sometimes it takes the vision of another person to show you what the Lord has shown them  help you walk in the ways of the Lord.

This reminds me of the prophets.

The prophets of old had a distinct calling-one that they knew that HAD to walk in, or else.  There were no if’s, an’s or but’s.  Elijah thought he was the “only one”  left and wanted to die, but he wasn’t.  God sent him to a cave so he could hear what HE was saying-and not what the world was saying.  The life of a prophet was a lonely one, but they were never alone.  God used them to give a message.

He still does that today through many people and situations.

Last week I heard a message from a sick man.

“ Jesus has given me time to get my house in order.”

This week I heard another message, a cry for mercy.  I saw a vision though the eyes of a visionary.  Had it not been shared with me, I may not have seen it.

This time it was about women and children.

Words are so powerful and they leave an impression on our brain cells.  Like silly putty- when you press silly putty onto a printed newspaper-the ink comes off on the putty.  It’s this same way with our brains.  This is why we must always fill ourselves with the goodness of God because our brain is affected by everything.

When I hear “ women and children” my heart cries out to Jesus to fill us with more mercy, compassion, love , grace and hope so that we might serve as He did, and still does- through each of us.

So, when I sat down to paint, this came out-what had been impressed upon my brain….

Here is what I see….

Women and children.  I see the Creator as the center of their lives and I see and hear the singing and dancing of a throng of women and children around the throne in joyful worship!  There’s an angel in worship with them and the glory of the Lord rises as they worship the King.  They are holding hands, dancing, raising arms and adoring their sweet Savior, Jesus.

Glory in the Highest!

If you are a woman, a child, visionary, a prophet, an Elijah, or a Joshua, whoever you might be- put your hand on your heart and feel the thumpety thump.  That’s Jesus in you.  As my little 4 year old friend, Pearl says, “ Miss Donna, Jesus is  here! He’s right here in my heart!!”  Always know that you are highly favored and greatly loved and that you never walk alone.  It is the Living God who has filled your lungs with His breath and your heart with His Presence.  He lives and moves and breathes and has his way with you.  Keep going to the cave, keep listening, keep rising, keep speaking forth Truth, and keep running with fire in your feet !!!   Most of all keep praising your King and your God, for He is mighty and it is His right arm that is stretched out over you in sweet VICTORY!

Bless you!

Breaking through to freedom

My exploding heart is in His hands.
This is my first attempt at using “alcohol ink” on vellum paper. It is totally freeing. The only thing I have to consider is the color and placement. This has been another week of breakthrough for me in letting go of myself.
When I paint I plan.  It’s like a roadmap.  There’s nothing wrong with planning.   At this stage in my journey the Lord is asking me to let go of my mind and take on His in every way, shape, and form.  For someone who loves straight lines and making things ‘just so” on the canvas this has been an interesting road trip!
It began when my friend visited me several months ago and she took my hand and we did the “Soul Dance” with the brush.  She pushed me and taught me to trust and to see beyond the canvas, to paint outside the edges of my mind.  A spark blew into a flame and my creativity has been pushed over the edge and into something I have never experienced before.
Then I attended the Gathering of the Artisan’s in Black Mountain, NC for 4 days.  I felt like we were in the heavenly courts in worship and creativity.  It was so powerful to be in a room filled with artist’s painting, drawing, singing, flagging, dancing, praying , playing the Native American flute, and speaking out the Word of the Lord all at once.  It was like I found my tribe of people and we were all singing the same song and sitting in the book of Revelation.   It was an amazing experience and I came away with an increased desire to share the Lord through creativity of all kinds, not just painting.
Our charge was this:
“ Go back to your homes, your communities and churches and light fires for Jesus through creativity.  Build up the Church. ”
Today the fire is hot.

” Now I am revealing new things to you. Things hidden and unknown to you, created just now, this very moment. Of these things you have heard nothing until now. So that you cannot say, “oh yes, i knew this.”

Isaiah 48:6-7

If you live in my area and would like to come and create with me, I am inviting you to “come in.”  Bring your supplies and we can fellowship, encourage, and lift each other up as we create.  Please join me in the studio and we will make new discoveries together.

I leave you with a blessing of holy inspiration from the Lord.

1 Corinthians 2:9

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
and no mind has imagined
what God has prepared
for those who love him.”

He speaks in many ways. Look for Him in all things.  He has revealed Himself to us and the depth of His love is unfathomable.  Paint it, speak it, write it, dance it, sing it-just don’t keep it to yourself.  We were created in His Image to do these things-they are our offering of worship back to Him.

So…come and WORSHIP!

Bless you!

The Waters of Noah

Today has been a day of intercession through paint.  This painting carries many prayers for God’s creation.  It started out as an intercessory painting for a friend who is going back to England.  She will be carrying it “home” with her.  She has not seen it yet.  Throughout the day I received many prayer requests and each of them has been painted into this piece.  As I was led, the piece seemed to grow.  My initial prayers were for USA and England, John 17, and for my friend, who is a pastor and will be entering into  “new territory.”   As I painted and prayed I began to worship, dance and stomp my feet and brush.  There was sort of a rythm to the strokes and then I began the circular motion.  I saw the infinity symbol as well as the # 8.
The number 8=new beginnings.  In Hebrew ( sh’moneh) it means ” to make fat”- “to super abound:”  One who abounds in strength.  Superabundant fertility, OIL.

When you put 7+1=8 you get Resurrection, regeneration, newness, new order.  NOAH was the 8th person who stepped out of the ark onto and into a new earth.

I shall call this piece the waters of NOAH.

It is surrounded with water and fire-a baptism of the heart-straight from the center of the cross where the Holy of Holies professed His great love for US.  It drips down, not in blood-but in purity and holiness.  When we meet LOVE face to face we are transformed from the inside out-a regeneration, a newness and a new order comes into our very being.  All that matters is being ONE with LOVE.  We lift our arms high and wide to receive it ALL, every drop, every spittle, every breath.

Love takes our breath away.

There IS no greater love than this…Jesus, Yeshua, YHWH, Elohim, Adonai, Redeemer, LORD.

The spiritual warfare has been real.  The enemy will try to steal, kill and destroy our minds with lies and tricks and trip ups, but when we know WHO our LORD is we know the VICTORY is OURS.

We know that Jesus came to give LIFE.

The key is knowing the Word of the Lord and getting on our knees immediately and going to the Lord in prayer.

If you paint- pick up your brush and paint. Throw it, pound it, flip it, fly it.  This is your worship and our worship is our warfare.  Don’t make sense of it-just do it.  While you do it-praise HIS HOLY NAME and declare HIS WORD out loud.  If you sing, SING!  If you dance, DANCE!  If you write, WRITE!  If you flag, FLAG!  Just don’t NOT do it.  Our worship silences the noise and when we look at JESUS we cannot look at anything else.

Place your face in His space and stay there.

My work has changed so much and I’ll be very honest- I am not comfortable with it.  I don’t understand it.  I have always been very precise in choosing lines, shapes, colors and styles because I can understand those things.  They make sense to my mind and let’s face it- we all want approval, don’t we?

Gah.  Approval schmoval.

Jesus didn’t need it, neither do I.

I actually LOVE looking at abstract art because it causes my mind to go deeper-to go where God is.  To see beyond this world and into the next.  I never imagined I would be creating it myself.  haha!

But this new work… I have to force myself to share it.  I realized that this feeling of being uncomfortable is stretching me to see beyond what I DO and look straight into His face and see what HE does through me.  It’s not about me and I am learning that I am NOT what I do.  I am WHO HE IS IN ME no matter what I am doing.

So are you.

It’s about spending time with Jesus and asking HIM what to do, to say, to pray, to paint, write and sing.  ( and more)   The more I let go of my mind , the more I hear, see and experience HIM.   I am to come to Him like a child-with no preconceived ideas of anything!

Tonight, I am praising God for His daily faithfulness and love in getting me out of my mind and replacing mine with HIS. It is a daily delight, an honor and a blessing to become ONE with my Lord and Savior however HE see’s fit.

May YOU also be blessed as He renews your mind!

Romans 12:1-2 So, brothers and sisters, because of God’s mercies, I encourage you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice that is holy and pleasing to God. This is your appropriate priestly service. 2 Don’t be conformed to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you can figure out what God’s will is—what is good and pleasing and mature.

Houses and order

Today was supposed to be a regular run of the mill day.  Kids to school, laundry, dentist, birthday cake to make, dinner to prepare, etc..   These days I am quickly learning that when I devote my first hours of the day in prayer and communion with the Lord that no day will be an “ordinary day.”   In these times of devotion I am learning to listen and see with eyes and ears of greater vision and hearing.

I had to go to the dentist this morning and then stop by the audiologist office to get my tube changed on my hearing aid.  The dentist was running behind which pushed my time up right where the Lord wanted it.  ( little did I know!)  When I got to the audiologist’s office I walked in and asked for a new tube.  I took my hearing aid off and gave it to the secretary so she could replace it for me.  I sat down near a man.  I said hello to him but I could not hear him at all, so I got up and sat right next to him and leaned in so I could hear what he was saying to me, almost in his lap.   It was clear to me that he was not well.  We began to talk and he began to share.

Cancer.  Lesions. Lost an eye. Cancer took his hearing. Now it is throughout his entire body.  He said that the doctors were not talking about him getting well anymore, instead they were talking about how long he might have left and how to prolong his life as much as possible.

He would look up and smile with his one eye open and the other one sewn halfway shut.  He testified that he could still see out of it even though it was sewn partly shut.  He was so thin and frail and as we talked I felt the Lord moving me in mercy, love and compassion for this man- a brother in Christ that I had just met.

Love holds no boundaries.

We talked for awhile, people coming in and out.  His concern was not for himself but for his family and his dogs.  He said something to me that rocked me from the inside out….

“there is one Man who can save me and either way we go He has given me time to get my house in order.”

“He has given me time to get my house in order.”

He then told me all the things he was doing to get his house in order for his family- none of them was for himself- it was all for his family.

Isn’t this just like Jesus?  He came to earth to help us get our houses in order-we are His family and he gave it all for us and all He has ever wanted was for US to get our lives in order so that we might LIVE forever with Him.

……with Him-not away from Him.  This means devotion to Him-to His holiness and purity.  Giving up the things of this world and taking on the things of Christ.  Less of us means less of this world and our selfish desires and more of Him means just that- more of HIM in us.  When we get rid of the things that are taking up space-then we can make our space sacred by filling it with the things of the Lord.  This is called getting our houses in order.

Are we giving our all for Him by getting our houses in order?  …and with no complaints?

I heard, felt and saw a man of faith sitting next to me.  Frail in the physical, strong in the faith.  We shared our mutual love for our Healer, Jesus, Jehovah Rapha.

I felt the Presence of the Lord moving in me throughout our entire conversation and I asked him, “ has anyone anointed you or laid hands on you in prayer?”

He said, “no.”   I asked him if I could and he said “yes, please.”

I went out to the car to get my oil and when I did my phone went off.  It was my friend, Teacher and prayer warrior calling me.  Perfect timing from the Lord.  I did not answer it and I knew she was praying because that’s how the Lord Jesus works- in mysterious ways that we can never understand.  I went back inside and I heard myself asking the secretary to pray with us.  She came out and sat down.  I told her to move next to him and lay hands on him with me. So she did.  The Lord led me to anoint this man’s head and we breathed our prayer of healing out in a breath of abiding unison over this child of God, so frail and thin, yet so strong and faithful.   The Lord was right there in the oil, the prayer, the tears, the hugs and the words that slipped out of my throat through holy tears:

“I love you brother, please keep in touch with me.”

I said goodbye and left.

When I got to my car I wept.

I could not move.  I thanked the Lord for what He had just done for this man-for his healing and for his family.  Glory to God!!!

Then I thanked Him for He had done inside of me.

I had never experienced such love for a stranger in my whole life.  I have prayed for such a love to come and it is here.  Hallelujah!  I have prayed for my own ears to be healed and they have been! Glory to God!  I heard a man’s heart cry with no hearing aid, no eardrums, no anvil, no hammer, no nothing.  Thank you Jesus!   I heard the Lord loud and clear and I felt a surge of love wash over me like never before.  A tender, gentle, love.  Living Water.  That’s JESUS!  HE lives in us and moves through us to reach others with His Great Name.

Elohim, Lord Almighty, Adonai, Yeshua.

We carry His Name….

The Voice within the whirlwind

I love how the Lord gathers us together as one.  I posted this photo on FB last night and my friend Maureen-who lives in London- saw it.  She is an amazing intercessor, writer and lover of Jesus.  She posted the following to the picture.  Enjoy!

Thanks Maureen, I love you sis!

Gotta have faith

A dream, a brush, some paint and oil and off we go in the early morning hours. Letting go with Papa. It’s called “faith.” We gotta have it and sometimes trusting in Him is like closing our eyes with a brush loaded with paint. We won’t know the outcome until we lay it all down and push through the paint and trust HIM to guide the brush and our lives! It’s a beautiful thing to let go and let God!

These are close up sections of very thick and wet paint. haha! Half the fun it “finding” the hidden things in the painting. Like a treasure hunt in our hearts….only God knows what all He has placed there. It is up to us ( FAITH) to find the golden nuggets! Thank you Lord for the many treasures you have laid deep within our hearts! Amen!

God has really spoken to me through the paint this morning ….the verse is absolutely fitting-what we think we see is not really what we see…when we come closer IN-we see more…so much more….

Faith 2013

No one stands alone

A few weeks ago a friend of mine came to visit and she shared a dream she had with me.  She said she saw a red waterfall that was flowing straight down.  She said, “ I think you are supposed to paint it.”  As soon as she said it I could see it.  It wasn’t until I began painting that the Lord led me to discover the depth of the water.

It started out like this except the background was white.  I felt like it would make more of an impact with a blackish/blue background and I was right.    As I added the black and blue I began to see the depth of the painting- as if looking IN from the entrance of a cave.

I thought about Elijah.

1 Kings 19:11-13

The Lord said, “Go out and stand at the mountain before the Lord. The Lord is passing by.” A very strong wind tore through the mountains and broke apart the stones before the Lord. But the Lord wasn’t in the wind. After the wind, there was an earthquake. But the Lord wasn’t in the earthquake.12 After the earthquake, there was a fire. But the Lord wasn’t in the fire. After the fire, there was a sound. Thin. Quiet. 13 When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his coat. He went out and stood at the cave’s entrance. A voice came to him and said, “Why are you here, Elijah?”

It was as if the Lord was saying to me…

You are standing on the edge of this cave…are you ready to go deeper with Me?  Are you ready to JUMP IN THE WATER?

A few weeks ago I stood in a waterfall with a friend…so it’s no surprise that we are here again…except this time it’s the blood of Jesus that is covering me.  It’s always covering me but sometimes I just need to SEE it.  This was Holy Spirit’s way of showing me through a dream and a friend.  It just shows me how much the Lord loves me when He speaks to me that way.  It’s very “up close” and “personal” in the paint.

As I paint, I pray and I see things in the paint.  That’s called “seeing in the spirit.”  We all do it, except we often don’t realize what we are doing.   I wanted to make the painting look like it had more depth so I added some blue and black and white wild wispy lines to it.

I stepped in a little deeper.

I began thinking about our country and our President.  The night before I had a dream about the Dalai Lama and a few weeks ago I saw a picture in my mind to paint of the Pope.  The Dalai Lama, the Pope, and now the President?   Hmmm…All world leaders in need of much prayer.

The bible says we have been blessed to BE a blessing and that only blessings should come out of our mouths.  ( Genesis 12)  When we grumble and groan we need to take those thoughts and words captive and make them Christ’s thoughts and words-not our own.  ( 2 Cor. 10:5)   We are to pray without ceasing.  To never stop praying…ever.   ( 1 Thess. 5:17)   When we abide with Christ we are able to do these things and more.  ( John 15:9)

We are to be filled with love  ( John 15:10) ) and mercy-( Psalms 145:9 The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.)  This equals grace.   Hebrews 4:16  Finally, let’s draw near to the throne of favor with confidence so that we can receive mercy and find grace when we need help. There are things that we will never understand and we must get out of our own thinking and into God’s.     Romans 12: 1 So, brothers and sisters, because of God’s mercies, I encourage you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice that is holy and pleasing to God. This is your appropriate priestly service. 2 Don’t be conformed to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you can figure out what God’s will is—what is good and pleasing and mature.

We do this when we pray God’s Word back to Him.

Hebrews 4: 11-13 11 Therefore, let’s make every effort to enter that rest so that no one will fall by following the same example of disobedience, 12 because God’s word is living, active, and sharper than any two-edged sword. It penetrates to the point that it separates the soul from the spirit and the joints from the marrow. It’s able to judge the heart’s thoughts and intentions. 13 No creature is hidden from it, but rather everything is naked and exposed to the eyes of the one to whom we have to give an answer.

.Acts 4:6  4 As for us, we will devote ourselves to prayer and the service of proclaiming the word.”

1 Timothy 2: 1-6

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. 2 Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and pleases God our Savior,4 who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. 5 For there is only one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. 6 He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone.

Then I was led to paint our president in the waterfall.  Not something I had planned at all.  Jesus was teaching me something…to not rely on my own understanding and to stand in prayer-no matter what.  To pray a blessing into the atmosphere. Our prayers shift the atmosphere of heaven.

Matthew 11:28-29

28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

“Let Me teach you…”

Then Jesus taught me something in the paint…He said, “get in the water with him…no one stands alone.”

So I did.

2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Proverbs 3:5-8

Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
6 Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.

7 Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom.
Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
8 Then you will have healing for your body
and strength for your bones.
