Sadie’s worship flag

The Lord Jesus IS Jehovah Rapha -the Healer.

Exodus 15:26 “ I am the Lord, who heals you.”

He IS Jehovah Nissi-our banner.

Exodus 17: 15  Moses built an altar there and named it Yahweh-nissi

(which means “the LORD is my banner”).

He is EL ROI- the God who sees!

Genesis 16:13  Then she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, “You are a God who sees”; for she said, “Have I even remained alive here after seeing Him?”14Therefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi

There is nothing that we do that he doesn’t see and this past week he saw a group of children worshipping Him with all their hearts, minds and souls.  Children who were uninhibited by the world around them.  They let God have His way with them…they were consumed by His great love.

Romans 8:14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.

I saw this group of children rejoicing with the joy of the Lord in their hearts and then I watched them kneel, stand and lay hands on each other and pray for one another.  One of them was 4 year old Sadie who had been diagnosed with a serious eye condition that was going to take a specialist to get her well…or so the medical community thought….

Little did they know the power of the prayer of children and parents!

Matthew 18:20 “ For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

Sadie had the hands of her friends praying over her and I cannot even begin to express what a sight that was.  Seeing it has ruined me inside. ( in a good way)  It has opened up a whole new area of my heart to what God wants to do to us, through us, in us, and for us.  Seeing those children praying has increased my faith by leaps and bounds.

Luke 18:17  “Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

As the children were praying I began flagging over them. I was doing what Moses, Aaron and Hur did during the battle with the Amalekites.  Moses held up the staff of God in his hand during the battle and when he got tired Aaron and Hur held his arms up for him until the battle was won.

I flagged until they stopped praying.

Exodus 17: 8-15

8 While the people of Israel were still at Rephidim, the warriors of Amalek attacked them. 9 Moses commanded Joshua, “Choose some men to go out and fight the army of Amalek for us. Tomorrow, I will stand at the top of the hill, holding the staff of God in my hand.”

10 So Joshua did what Moses had commanded and fought the army of Amalek. Meanwhile, Moses, Aaron, and Hur climbed to the top of a nearby hill. 11 As long as Moses held up the staff in his hand, the Israelites had the advantage. But whenever he dropped his hand, the Amalekites gained the advantage. 12 Moses’ arms soon became so tired he could no longer hold them up. So Aaron and Hur found a stone for him to sit on. Then they stood on each side of Moses, holding up his hands. So his hands held steady until sunset. 13 As a result, Joshua overwhelmed the army of Amalek in battle.

14 After the victory, the Lord instructed Moses, “Write this down on a scroll as a permanent reminder, and read it aloud to Joshua: I will erase the memory of Amalek from under heaven.” 15 Moses built an altar there and named it Yahweh-Nissi (which means “the Lord is my banner”).

Flagging is something new for me.  When I am flagging there is a freedom in the movement and it takes me away to another place, just like painting does.  The sound of the material moving in the air, flipping and flitting,  sounds like wings flapping and the air movement makes me think of the breath of God blowing on us.  Flagging ushers in the Presence of God and I absolutely love doing it.  The only way I can describe it is like a motorcycle ride- you feel free and you are in the wind of the Spirit of God.  It takes you away. In fact my motorcycle has rainbow colored ribbons streaming from the luggage rack…and as I worship in my car to music, I often wave my arms like I have a flag.  I also experienced painting with Sadie in my arms in this same manner.  I was holding her and she was holding the brush and we were swaying back and forth with the brush and the paint on the canvas  in time to the music.  What we painted did not matter- it was the movement in the Spirit-pure worship.  This is what God wants- for us to be in tune with HIM.  It’s all about worship.

Once the kids finished praying they all sat in a circle on the floor and began to draw prophetic art with messages.  No one told them to do any of these things-it was all at the prompting of the Holy Spirit.  They were giving these drawings and messages to people in the congregation.  I received one that said “ You are going to bloom.” It has a huge pink flower on it.

I was undone.  Two days later I would finish my season as a pulpit pastor. ( This child had no way of knowing that!)   God has been watering me, feeding me and growing me to get to this point.  I truly am the flower and I have indeed bloomed since that evening!  My heart has erupted into a gazillion billion kilobytes of love!  Like an explosion of fireflies in the dark night………woooosh!

Here is the best part….

The next day I got a text from Sadie’s mom- her eye was completely healed! Praise the Lord!   God is good all the time and all the time God is good!  Since having this whole experience God has given me a desire to experiment with making flags for the kids.  So, a friend of mine gave me an idea to use men’s white hankies ( 22” x 22”)  and paint on them.  So that’s what I have done here.

This is the first one and I painted the Lion of Judah on it for Sadie.

He has a cross/sword on his forehead.

The LORD has won the battle for Sadie!

Glory to GOD!

Zechariah 4:6

‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty.”

All I can say is that when you have seen God and experienced His hand-it changes you from the inside out and you can’t stop talking about Him…thinking about Him or creating things for or about Him…

I am consumed by His magnificent love for us…thank you Jesus…thank you….all Glory to GOD!
