The Sweet Spot

Taste and see that the LORD is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!

Psalm 34:8

God is like a piece of wrapped candy.  In order to get what is inside the wrapper you have to take the wrapping off. That wrapping is what is covering your heart, your eyes, your hands, and sometimes all of you.  When you unwrap a piece of hard candy you twist and turn the plastic wrapper to get the candy out.  It crinkles and crackles along the way.

When we desire to get closer to God-He twists and turns us and we crinkle and crackle too.  We cry, we laugh, we pray.   Once we are unwrapped we draw ever nearer to God.  Like sweets are addicting- so is God.

When we begin to “ taste and see that the Lord is good” HE is all we want.

I call this piece the “sweet spot.”

“Sweet Spot” – Donna Godwin 2013

It’s the place where we go to lay our head on His shoulder, to utter our prayers and to just let go and BE STILL for awhile.  We aren’t required to do anything to be with God except

Where we are God is and where God is we are.  Tap into that today by taking some time to get lost in His love and “taste and see that the Lord is good.”

He is always there and always waiting…close your eyes, sit back and listen for Him….

blessings for your journey,

I am the mom of three beautiful daughters, wife to a genius, sister to a teacher, sis-in-law to an engineer, daughter to a yankee and a rebel, and a woman chasing God. I love to read, draw and be with my family. If the reading inspires me, then I draw what I read. Almost everything I draw is based around or about Jesus Christ. I attend church at First United Methodist Hillsville. Ronnie Collins is my associate pastor, also a blogger here. I love the Lord with all my heart and I hope what you see here will inspire your heart.
