A little bit of cardboard

…and a whole lotta freedom….

Yesterday we witnessed God breathing new life into His people.  We saw the wounds of life written on old pieces of cardboard being walked across the stage of life… they were a testament to what God is doing among His people…

Here are a few…

from abortion to forgiveness, peace and grace…

from broken marriages to marriages that are healed, whole and on fire for God…

from drug to being clean, free, and living for God…

from alcohol to being sober and safe in God’s arms…

from abuse to freedom…

It’s hard to carry your burden around 24/7 but it is even harder to lay it down.  Lay it down we did!

I saw healing rise with the flip of each piece of cardboard!  Each person made a claim of victory of the wonder working power of God in their lives.  It was amazing!  As I stood and watched, my own heart was jumping and leaping in joy for God!  Yes!  Yes! Yes!

I saw one of my friends being released from her own chains of bondage.   As she thrust her sign into the air with tears streaming down her face I felt like her whole being was making this bold statement:  “ take this satan-you don’t have a hold on me any longer-God does!”  Bam! Bam! Bam!  Here are three nails for your coffin-I don’t need them anymore!   Get away from me and my family! “   I could see it in her stance and in the power of the thrust-her arms were quivering and her tears were cleansing her soul.  Everything about the moment gave glory to God and I could see His power rising up inside of her and her husband.  Yes!  THIS is VICTORY in CHRIST!

My friend’s husband was standing next to her with his own cardboard testimony.   The fact that they were standing there together is a testament to the power of God’s unconditional love in a marriage.   The look on his face wrenched my heart.  But then something happened…they flipped their signs and I saw their mourning turn to unspeakable joy and I saw the glory of the Lord on their faces!   Remember when Moses came down from the mountain after his meeting with God?  His face was radiant after being in the presence of the Lord.  The faces of my friends were also radiant!  Wow!   They were in this together and today God is the head of their marriage.  Glory! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!

As we all joined hands and raised arms in victory I felt like we had all crossed the threshold from bondage to freedom-TOGETHER.  We took a giant step toward God, in unison to His great timing.  The last note I heard was the tinkling of broken chains hitting the floor…
