I was wheeling down 221 on my shiny red racer last week when I saw a field full of bright orange pumpkins! Rolling, tumbling, fat, short, squatty, skinny, tall and perfectly grown from a tiny seed. They were all hooked together by vines, ready to be picked, scooped and decorated for Fall.
My heart raced as I thought about the seeds inside of each pumpkin! Hundreds of seeds are inside each one! In my mind the pumpkins represent us and each seed inside represents the life of someone in our lives. It could be a neighbor, a friend, a relative or a stranger. Each seed is placed in our life for a specific purpose- one that God had planned long ago. All the goo around the seeds is the junk of life. Sometimes we need scooping and other times we do the scooping, but it is only when we get scooped out and cleaned up that we can really shine for God!
Pumpkin pie anyone? Hey…where’s the cool whip?
