Roots of LOVE

Standard

Hi!

I have a friend who has expanded my creative mind by getting me to look at Irises with new eyes.  Today I had a beauty blooming in my yard so I cut it.  A gift  from God-just in time for Mother’s Day!    My friend and I talked  yesterday about this idea she had-after that I started forming my own idea.  This is a little piece of it and a piece of my new found love of Irises and for my friend.  You never know when God is going to send somebody into your life who “thinks just like you do!”  Lately, God has been sending a lot of these people into my life and I am fascinated with how God is weaving us all together into a beautiful tapestry of love.  I thank God for each one of you and for the joy you have brought into my life.  God is IN the mix!

The word IRIS is greek for RAINBOW.  The Greek Goddess IRIS was the messenger of LOVE.  My God IS LOVE!  His promises are TRUE and REAL!  Whenever I see a rainbow in the sky I remember the promise that God made to us in Genesis.  ( Check out Genesis if you want to know what it says!)  ( Remember- read your bible 12.5 minutes a day!!!)

Ephesians 3: 14-21 says this:

14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,[c] 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

This drawing shows God’s promise and how it is rooted and grounded in love.  A long time ago someone planted that seed in my heart and over the years it has grown into something beautiful and magnificent!   It has taken a lot of nurturing, weeding, watering and sunlight to get me here and God isn’t done with me yet.  I’m still not as beautiful as I could be,  but like this flower, we all have the potential to grow into something beautiful!   It is up to us to let that seed take root and grow.  It takes prayer, time, patience and love.   Just as the scripture says, GOD IS ABLE TO DO EXCEEDINGLY ABUNDANTLY ABOVE ALL THAT WE ASK OR THINK!!!!!!

Believe it!!!!!!!!!

I am the mom of three beautiful daughters, wife to a genius, sister to a teacher, sis-in-law to an engineer, daughter to a yankee and a rebel, and a woman chasing God. I love to read, draw and be with my family. If the reading inspires me, then I draw what I read. Almost everything I draw is based around or about Jesus Christ. I attend church at First United Methodist Hillsville. Ronnie Collins is my associate pastor, also a blogger here. I love the Lord with all my heart and I hope what you see here will inspire your heart.

  1. Ooo Ooo Ooo I LOVE IT!!!!! It’s gorgeous! And Thank God He is our “Constant Gardner”–He is constantly watering, weeding, and sometimes even replanting us–he prunes away the dead things, and nurtures us to THRIVE! I still have to work on my homework.
