Light the Way

Standard

Several months ago I drew this for a friend.  Hers looks a little different.  Yesterday I revamped it and made some changes.  God is our guide.  He is our Light, our Direction, our Anchor and our Risen  Savior-who awaits us at heaven’s gates.  .  I love the Lord with all of my heart, mind, body and soul.  I thank God for always loving me, for always sticking with me, for Lighting my path and for being my Anchor.  On Christ the Solid Rock I stand!  Amen!

speak the truth in love

Standard

Good Morning!

My heart hurts for God and his people this morning because there are so many who are lost in the world, aimlessly walking around, with no direction in their lives.   There are folks who need to experience the deep and overwhelming love of God in their lives, but they can’t. Why?  Because they don’t know how.  It is up to us to live a life that leads people to God.  That means speaking the Truth in love, pray before speaking, ask God for wisdom in how to approach people, what to say, do, or sometimes NOT do.  People need to know that they are cared about by us and cared for by God.  Many people don’t have a clue how much they are cared about until they experience something as simple as a hug, a smile, a kind word or deed.  God has given us the responsibility of leading people to Him.

As Believers and the family of God it is up to us to uphold God’s Word to the lost world.  We have to do it in a way that is gentle but firm,  kind and compassionate.  We cannot be overrun by the other person’s negativity or unforgiveness.   We have to see beyond the hurt and  the pain and see what God sees.  His sweet, precious child.   We have to take their hand and guide them across the bridge to the other side, helping them to drop the junk along the way.  We can do this in a positive way by sharing God’s love letters with them.  His Holy Word-the Bible.    We must always look to the scriptures to see what God says, not what this person or that person says, but GOD.   It doesn’t happen overnight.  It is a lifetime of building relationships with people.  Some folks just don’t know what the bible really says because they have listened to this person or that person instead of reading it for themselves.  We are called to direct them to the Truth.  We must, at all times, protect the Word of God and the family of God-the church.

1 Timothy 4 talks about people abandoning the faith and following the things that are not of God.

1 Timothy 4:4-16

For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer. 6If you point these things out to the brothers, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, brought up in the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed. 7Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly.8For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.9This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance 10(and for this we labor and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe.11Command and teach these things. 12Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. 13Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. 14Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through a prophetic message when the body of elders laid their hands on you.15Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 16Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

For everything God created is good-people need to learn this basic Truth-teach them!

Have nothing to do with godless myths-we are to build UP the BODY!

Train yourself to be godly-in ALL things.  This is our responsibility.

We have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe. Our HOPE is in knowing Jesus Christ is REAL, that He LIVED, that He DIED, that HE ROSE and that He has gone ahead to prepare a place for us in heaven.  How do we know?  God has left His Holy Word behind to teach us these things. The Bible.  We MUST read it for ourselves.

Command and teach these things. God expects us to do this and He has given us instructions on how to do that.

Set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. We must constantly check ourselves and ask if what we are doing, saying and teaching  is Holy? Be honest with yourself.  Pray. Repent. Change.

Do not neglect your gift. God has given each of us different gifts to use to teach and glorify Him with.  Do you know what yours is?  If you don’t-seek counsel, pray and ask God to reveal it to you and then use it to glorify GOD!

Be diligent. This means doing it once, twice, three times, 7 x 70 x 700.  Never give up.

Watch your life and doctrine closely. Make sure you are living by God’s standards and not the world’s.

Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers. By pressing on we lead others to Truth and a Life Eternal~Press on!

One suggestion I have is to find an accountability partner.  This should be a person who is on the same path as you are, one whom you can depend on to be truthful, kind and compassionate with you.  One who will walk with you and yank you back in line when you need it.  We all need it.  I have several and without these people in my life, I would be a different person today.  So, I am thankful for my accountability partners-even when it’s hard.  It is when things are hard that we know God is at work in us-chipping that mold and mildew off our hearts.  He wants a clean and pure heart that beats in time with His.  He uses other people to get us where we need to be, so we can help others!

Let us always build each other UP.  ( Ephesians 4:12)

Be encouraged!
