We are the body

Good Morning!

I hope you will take the time to listen to this song by Casting Crowns.  For me it does two things.

It reminds me of what our church is currently doing and the many ministries where we reach, teach, heal, go and do.   We ARE the body of Christ at First United Methodist Church Hillsville.  We can’t do it alone.  God brings the people to our church, sometimes one at a time, sometimes several and other times he brings whole families.  God is doing amazing things in HIS body at FUMC Hillsville!   It is through Christ that we are able to do all of these things, and it is with Christ that we reach the world with His hands. The hands that he created and filled with unique gifts and talents.  We are to use these to build up the church, to encourage one another and to reach the lost.

It  also gives me a new perspective of what we should all be doing,  worldwide, as the body of Christ.  We can each lend a hand to help a neighbor, to heal a broken heart, to show love and compassion and to teach and show the world around us who Jesus Christ IS!   Being the body of Christ should be our lifesong.  I strive for it everyday.  Some days I make it, some days I don’t.  That’s ok. God’s grace flows over, around, in and through me!!  I have to remember that when I fall, I have to get back up, dust myself off and never look back.  I thank God for this new day and another chance to live for Him- to make him my lifesong.

May you be encouraged church!  ( FUMC Hillsville and the church worldwide)  God is doing great things in and through each of you!
