Missions Bazaar and Auction

Standard

God loves each and everyone of us.  We ALL have worth in His eyes, we are ALL significant and we are ALL loved with the infinite, gracious, almighty, redeeming  love of our Creator.  Everyone, everywhere is in HIS hands!   This includes the wrecked, the messy, the beautiful, the broken, the unborn, the dying, the unloved, the abused, the faithful, the unfaithful, EVERYONE is loved by God.  Including YOU!   It is our mission, as Christians, to let people know they are loved!  Our mission is inclusive to ALL people, EVERYWHERE.  People need healing, hope and help.  We are here to help, not to judge or point fingers.  We all need help and we’ve all been on the other side where we have needed help also.  Someone helped us.  Someone prayed for us.  Someone took our hand and loved us.  That’s what we are each to do for others.  We are called to “Go and make disciples of ALL nations…” and we do this through being involved in missions work.

Mission work is everywhere.  It is not limited to one place or country.  It is in your very own home, with your children, your family, your spouse.  It is in your community, with your next door neighbors, with the folks a few miles away who have been burned out of thier home, with the little girl whose Mom is sick.  It is with neighboring churches of all denominations, it can be in the most unusual places like the gas station or in the checkout line at the store.  Everywhere there are people there IS a mission waiting to be started.  It should be our personal mission statement-to be a missionary in our everyday walk of life.   We are called to share the love of Christ however we can, whenever we can, and wherever we can.  Some of us are called out to go into international missions.  In doing this we are being compelled to continue to serve-no matter where it is.   We see the world as a whole, not just as our little space.  We see that things in other places are desperate, things we might not see here at home.   We see how well off we are.  God compels us to DO this WORK.  It is not something we ask for because it is HARD.  It brings you to your knees and it refines your gut from the inside out.  It makes you want to puke and die.  It keeps you awake at night.  You toss and turn, have nightmares and you can’t stop thinking about what you saw and how evil the world is.  The truth is hard and it hurts; however there IS hope and we have it.  Jesus Christ is our Hope.  Hope is a gift.  Some people have never experienced that gift.  It is up to us to deliver it.  God loves us ALL- NO MATTER WHAT and the world is in desperate need of love and we are to take this love and deliver it-we are to be the messengers of the great love of Christ.

We do this by going out into the world.  The WHOLE world.

This Saturday is our missions bazaar and auction fundraiser.  It supports world missions.  It starts at 8 am with breakfast and the bazaar.  Then we will offer lunch and have an auction at 2pm with the great folks from Dawn Auction!  Come on out and have some fun with us!  There will also be a car wash in the parking lot!  This is all taking place THIS Saturday, August 21, 2010 at FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH,HILLSVILLE, VA..  We are located on Fulcher Street-just up the hill above Wheatland Nursing Home.  There will be something for everyone!  We are looking forward to seeing you!

Thank you for supporting missions everywhere!  Go forth and BE a missionary wherever you go today!

Peace and Grace for your journey of faith,

d.

About godw1nz

I am the mom of three beautiful daughters, wife to a genius, sister to a teacher, sis-in-law to an engineer, daughter to a yankee and a rebel, and a woman chasing God. I love to read, draw and be with my family. If the reading inspires me, then I draw what I read. Almost everything I draw is based around or about Jesus Christ. I attend church at First United Methodist Hillsville. Ronnie Collins is my associate pastor, also a blogger here. I love the Lord with all my heart and I hope what you see here will inspire your heart.
