Concert at Brush Creek

Tonight Betsy and I are going to hear the Highland Camerata sing Psalm 110 in Latin at Brush Creek Church in Independence.  They will be singing a variety of music and there will also be an art show there.

Our friend, Carolyn Webb, sings with this gifted group and we had the pleasure of hearing them last year also.  I think this may become a tradition for Betsy and I!  We are both inspired by God’s gift of music and we are looking forward to a joy filled evening of praises to God!

Thanks for the invite CW!

 Blessings on your evening!

Psalmus 110 (111)

Psalm 110 (111)

1 Confitebor tibi Domine in toto corde meo in consilio iustorum et congregatione 1 I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; in the council of the just: and in the congregation.
2 Magna opera Domini exquisita in omnes voluntates eius 2 Great are the works of the Lord: sought out according to all his wills
3 Confessio et magnificentia opus eius et iustitia eius manet in saeculum saeculi 3 His work is praise and magnificence: and his justice continueth for ever and ever.
4 Memoriam fecit mirabilium suorum misericors et miserator Dominus 4 He hath made a remembrance of his wonderful works, being a merciful and gracious Lord:
5 Escam dedit timentibus se memor erit in saeculum testamenti sui 5 he hath given food to them that fear him. He will be mindful for ever of his covenant:
6 Virtutem operum suorum adnuntiabit populo suo 6 he will shew forth to his people the power of his works.
7 Ut det illis hereditatem gentium opera manuum eius veritas et iudicium 7 That he may give them the inheritance of the Gentiles: the works of his hands are truth and judgment.
8 Fidelia omnia mandata eius confirmata in saeculum saeculi facta in veritate et aequitate 8 All his commandments are faithful: confirmed for ever and ever, made in truth and equity.
9 Redemptionem misit populo suo mandavit in aeternum testamentum suum sanctum et terribile nomen eius 9 He hath sent redemption to his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever. Holy and terrible is his name:
10 Initium sapientiae timor Domini intellectus bonus omnibus facientibus eum laudatio eius manet in saeculum saeculi 10 the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. A good understanding to all that do it: his praise continueth for ever and ever.

  1. Cool! We’re doing Mozart’s “Vesperae Solennes de Confessore.” We’ll present “Dixit,” Heather McCall will sing “Laudate Dominum,” and we conclude his works with “Magnificat.”
