O’Keefe anyone?

Today I gave myself a Mother’s Day present- I watched the recently released movie about the life of the famous artist- Georgia O’Keefe.  We all watched it and the girls and I really enjoyed it ( through Cort’s snoring…teehee…)  It is a movie about love, passion, and being true to one’s calling.  I love Georgia’s work.  It is sensual, passionate, feminine and moving.  The movie brought out the passion behind the woman.  Wow!  She saw shapes and colors in a different way from any other artist.  She dared to be different and she succeeded.  Today her work hangs in galleries across the world.  She loved living in New Mexico and a lot of her work was done there.  One day I want to visit her studio and museum located in Santa Fe.  Her work makes me all giddy inside.  It speaks to my soul.

Thank you Georgia!

After the movie was over I googled some New Mexico landscapes.  I love churches.  I found a photograph of a church in New Mexico.  This is my interpretation of it.  ( above) If you love art and have 90 minutes of free time- watch the movie!  It is available in your local video store today!  Recently released!

Here is a trailer of the movie….

Blessings to you on this Mother’s Day!
