Invite them in

Last night we were all challenged by Pastor Ronnie to simply invite people to church.  Let’s stop making excuses about why we can’t do this or that and start putting our faith in God and let Him do the work.  All we have to do is say, ” hey, we go to this awesome church and I’d like to invite you to come and see what you think!”  The decision is theirs, not ours.  All we are required to do is ASK.  Simple.  One of our teenagers made the comment that we show our love for them by asking and if we don’t ask- do we really love them?  Sure, we may not know them, but that doesn’t mean we don’t love them.  God loves all people and he shows that love through us.  So, we can sit on our hands and do nothing OR we can get up and invite someone to church.  Now I am not talking about shoving it down thier throat- just a simple invitation.  No one likes to be left out and God certainly doesn’t want anyone left out.  His invitation is open to ALL- no matter what!!!

Pastor Ronnie has been writing letters to people this week and I intend to do the same.  God will take care of the rest.  It’s like Ronnie said, he would never be able to forgive himself if he didn’t try.  I feel that way too.  Putting the words to the paper will be hard and I know that God will be in them and that he will do the rest of the work.  We have to try.  God didn’t put us here to just sit and do nothing.  So, let me encourage you to write a letter to a loved one today!  Tell them about your Jesus and share your faith with them.  Ask God to convict the reader of the letter.  Look at all the letters Paul wrote- how many people have been moved by Paul’s testimony?  I know I have been.  So, let’s be like Paul and write!

God is at work in our church and at our youth center- Out of the Box.  Whenever I am at OOTB I always come out learning something new about the next generation.  These kids are an awesome testimony to the wonder working power of God in our midst.  Last night one of them told how he got to OOTB.  Evan Nester invited Cory Smith to OOTB by buying Cory a $1 cheeseburger at Hardee’s.  Today Cory is becoming a leader at OOTB, along with Evan.  I have spent a lot of time with the two young men and they are both being called by God.  Last week I spent time with them on the Good Friday walk and some of the things they talked about made my head spin.  Not because it was bad- but because it was GOOD, RIGHT and TRUE and from the Lord.  My daughter is friend’s with them, so I get to see these young men a lot and God has changed my heart through them.  So, church family- please take the time to get to know these young people-they truly are servants of God and are running as fast as they can toward the Savior-in thier way and thier time.  You will be blessed!

All are welcome at OOTB-no dress code-no labels- doesn’t matter what you’ve done or where you’ve been.  OOTB is a safe place to make new friends and grow closer to God.  It’s not your nomal youth center or church.  Why? Because there is no normal in the world.  We all come from some sort of brokenness and not one of us is normal.  Not one.  All are invited in and embraced by the love of God.   OOTB is open at 5 pm on Wednesday’s and at 9 am on Sunday morning for SS.  So, come on in and check it out!  Everything is free!

Come, and receive a blessing!

Spring has sprung…look what came up!

Wow!  I must have used some potent fertilizer on that flower bed…look what popped up!

The only problem is that I don’t know who they are!  Their heads are missing!   I wonder what that means?  Hmmmm…

They cetainly LOOK happy enough-don’t they?  They are colorfully dressed and arms are raised in glee…or are they raised in fright?

” Oh no! Our heads are missing!”  Maybe they are related to Humpty Dumpty?

Well, one thing is for sure they will cause some people to turn thier heads today…which is ironic since these two have no heads! ha!

I can hear it now..” what does that crazy lady have in her yard now?”  Anything to make people smile!  Life is full of wonder and joy!

Life is a gift…what will you find in it today?
