OOTB

Standard

Hello!

This is a drawing of our youth campus in downtown Hillsville called “Out of the Box.”

It is a place for our youth to hang out and learn more about Jesus.  They do this through attending Sunday School, youth group, and bible study.  They invite thier friends.  When they hang out at OOTB they are building relationships with each other, through thier mutual love of Christ.  If there are some who don’t know Christ,  they will certainly meet Him when they enter through these doors!

Our youngest child likes to stand in front of the tv and the oldest says, ” door! not window!”  That means, ” move! I can’t see through you!”  Well, this reminds of how Jesus is our door to heaven.   We cannot get to heaven merely by looking through the window, we have to act and make ourselves move to go through the door.  Once we are through the door, Jesus is there.  OOTB is the same way.  I’ve been hanging out there quite a bit lately, getting to know the teenagers, building relationships with them a little at a time.  Our teenagers are awesome!  They are stepping out and standing up for Christ in thier everyday walk.

Pray for them!

In spending time at OOTB, I have noticed that many people walking by, do peek in the windows and some walk away, while others come right in.  Those who come in are curious and want to know more and we are there to give them more…more of Jesus!

So, the next time you are walking by, just come on in!  The door is always open!  We would love to meet you!

Thanks be to God for all who teach, lead, guide, support and pray for OOTB.  This couldn’t be done without YOU!

Praying,

D.

I am the mom of three beautiful daughters, wife to a genius, sister to a teacher, sis-in-law to an engineer, daughter to a yankee and a rebel, and a woman chasing God. I love to read, draw and be with my family. If the reading inspires me, then I draw what I read. Almost everything I draw is based around or about Jesus Christ. I attend church at First United Methodist Hillsville. Ronnie Collins is my associate pastor, also a blogger here. I love the Lord with all my heart and I hope what you see here will inspire your heart.
