Let the Light Shine

Standard

Good Wintery Morning!

You gotta love it and that’s all I’m sayin’!  🙂

God is always speaking to me visually.  A week or so ago Jay asked me if I could help him come up with a fresh design for the SouledOut logo.  Not replacing the current one, but adding another one.  Well, I immediately said , ” of course!”  During the course of the past week or so I have thought about a few designs but had not put anything to paper yet.  At SNL last night the band played a new song called ” How He Loves.”  You can see it in my previous post.  I love the song lyrics and what it stands for.  I also love what SouledOut stands for.  You see, the name came from our beloved Betsy Key-who spent her life being “souled out” for Christ.  Betsy recently went home to be with Our Lord and we miss her greatly.  Her legacy lives on in this band and she will never be forgotten.

Betsy named the band because, like Betsy, they are SOULED OUT for Christ.  They don’t play to receive anything- they play to give GLORY to GOD.  If you have ever seen or heard them, you know what I am talking about!  They amaze me because they are so dedicated and committed to serving GOD in thier music and in thier lives.   The band is much more than the people you see singing and playing.  There are many, many, people who work “behind the scenes” to help all this happen.  God has put the right people in the right places.  They are each using thier individual gift to bring the free gift of Life to the world.  That gift is Jesus Christ.  The Holy Spirit has fallen on thier instruments, hands, and voices and has made itself evident in thier countenance.  They have heard the call and have responded and God is blessing thier obedience.

This new design is a testament to the power of God in our lives.  As I sat and watched the YouTube video of this new song, I was inspired by the spotlights in the background of the video.  They reminded me of what Jesus does for us when we finally reach out and accept Him.  He streams light into our lives.  He lights up the darkness so we can see again.  Oh How He Loves Us… The “people” in this design are reaching for, pointing to, and praising God.  The font of SouledOut has little bubbles all around it.  There is a song that ” Need to Breathe” sings called, ” The air that I breathe” and those bubbles remind me of that song and how every breathe we take in comes from God.  Every single time we breathe a breath of air-it is from God.  Think about it.  We cannot live without God.  He IS our life, our sustenance-the air that we breathe.  So, even those who say they don’t believe in God have God IN THEM!  They just don’t realize it!  We MUST pray for them to realize God in their lives, to reach UP and see His Light-just like the figures in this design.  God is depending on US, those who know and love Him, to be the intercessors for the unbelievers.  It is OUR responsibility to hear HIS call on our lives. Our lives are to be spent reaching others for Him.  We are to give God our very best.  It may be singing, cooking, nursing, parenting, teaching, preaching, engineering, reading, drawing, truck driving, office working, lawnmowing, landscaping, snowplowing, and the list goes on.  Whatever YOU do, do it for the glory of God!

So, this design is FOR SouledOut but it’s not ABOUT SouledOut-it’s about BEING Souled Out for Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, Savior, Friend.  He died a gruesome death for each one of us.  Yes, you!  The amazing news is that today the CROSS IS EMPTY!  “Oh How He Loves US” …enough to come back, even after his torturous death-He came back to save us! You and I!   ” Oh How He Loves Us…”

He loves us enough to prepare a home for us with Him forever!

His Light Shines through the darkness and lights up our lives…

Reach!

  1. This is a very neat logo, nicely done too. I can’t play the David Crowder video as every time I click on it the SouledOut logo comes up and says it is done. Hmmm.
