A Bird, a thorny bush, and a Savior…

A beautiful reminder of Christ…

This bird is sitting on a thorny limb.  These thorns remind me of Christ’s sacrifice the day he died for you and I.  God uses all sorts of things to get our attention to tell his story.  This morning, He has used this bird to remind me of what He did for us.

He took the pain,

the mockery,

the torment,

the torture ,

the spitting,

the beating,

the whipping,

 the nailing,

finally the dying

for you and I.

Scripture says :

Mark 15:16-19 (The Message)

16-20The soldiers took Jesus into the palace (called Praetorium) and called together the entire brigade. They dressed him up in purple and put a crown plaited from a thornbush on his head. Then they began their mockery: “Bravo, King of the Jews!” They banged on his head with a club, spit on him, and knelt down in mock worship. After they had had their fun, they took off the purple cape and put his own clothes back on him.

Then they marched out to nail him to the cross.

But wait…that’s not the end of the story!
You see, Christ’s story has no end…
His love lives on forever and ever in His glorious Resurrection!
One day, all who believe will get to live there too!
How do you do that?

Acts 16:31 (New Living Translation)

“Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.”

What have you got to lose?
